What is a 500 Volt Semiconductor Fuse? Semiconductor Fuses are also known as High Speed Fuses or Rectifier Fuses. The 500 volt semiconductor fuse is a current limiting very fast-acting fuse rated at 500 volts AC and DC. Current ratings range from 1/4 to 1,600 amps. The maximum interrupting rating is 200,000 amps AC and 100,000 amps DC. Optional blown fuse indication features are available. Bussmann offers ferrule versions with 6x32mm and 14x51mm dimensions. Older versions with a 500 volt AC and a 450 volts DC rating and lower 20,000 DC amp interrupting rating are also available. The older versions are typically used for replacement. These High Speed Fuses are UL Recognized.
Mersen, Littelfuse and Bussmann offer a 500 volt semiconductor fuse. Mersen uses the Amp-Trap® Form 101 brand name. Littelfuse uses the POWR-GARD® trade name.
