What is a Midget Fuse? A midget fuse is a non-current limiting fuse offering supplemental protection. The midget fuse size dimensions are a diameter of 13/32 inches and a length of 1-1/2 inches. The metric midget fuse size dimensions are a 10mm diameter and a 38mm length. A midget fuse is also known as a 10x38 fuse or a 10x38mm fuse. Fast acting and time delay versions of the 10x38 fuse are available. Ampere ratings for the 10x38mm fuse range from 1/10 to 50 amps. Voltage ratings range from 32VAC to 1,000VAC. DC voltage ratings are also available on some series. The interrupting rating offerings for the 10x38 fuse range between 10,000 and 100,000 amps. Pin indicator versions which provide visual indication of a blown fuse are also available. Midget fuses are UL Listed under UL 248-14, and CSA Certified.

Bussmann, Littelfuse and Mersen offer midget fuses. Bussmann midget fuse brand names include Buss®, Limitron®, Fusetron® and Tron®. Littelfuse uses the Slo-Blo® brand name on some of its midget fuses. Mersen 10x38 fuse brand names include Amp-Trap® and Tri-onic®.
