What is a UL Class L Fuse? A Class L fuse is 600 volt AC current limiting fuse that is rated to interrupt a minimum of 200,000 amps. Both fast acting and time delay versions of the Class L fuse is offered. Bussmann, Littelfuse and Mersen self-certify their top line Class L fuses to a 300,000 amp interrupting rating. A lower cost version of the Class L time delay fuse is available. The Type L Fuse is UL Listed under UL 248-10, Class L (601-6,000 amps) and CSA Certified. The Type L fuse is UL Recognized for ampere ratings of 100 to 600 amps.

Bussmann, Littelfuse and Mersen offer Class L fuses. Bussmann uses the Low Peak® and Limitron® brand names for its Class L fuses. Littelfuse markets its Class L fuse under the POWR-PRO® brand name. Mersen uses the Amp-Trap® and Amp-Trap 2000® brand names.
